Sleeping with Another Man | My Pregnancy Bed Partner

I’ve been cheating on my partner and sleeping with someone else.

At first I just thought I’d try it out and see what it was like. He was new, exotic and a lot chunkier than my partner which meant there was more to cuddle up to; it also made sleeping with my ever-inflating belly far more comfortable.

But what started as a brief love affair has become something far worse.

I am in love.

I can’t help the way I feel and unfortunately my partner has had to start sleeping in the spare room to compensate for the extra body and my growing belly in bed with us. He just can’t take the lack of space anymore and can’t stand sharing me with another man.

I am of course referring to my new best friend, the one thing that I can’t be without at bed time anymore – my Theraline pillow.

I call him Terry.

Now before you all think I’ve gone off my rocker, I am quite aware that Terry is an inanimate object but he has completely changed my life over the last few months. From around 18 weeks pregnant I was really beginning to struggle to get comfy at night. I would toss and turn, not wanting to lie on my stomach for fear of hurting my little bump, not wanting to lie on my back after reading horror stories of inferior vena cava compression and not being able to lie solidly on my side because… well, it was bloody uncomfortable!

And then this little beauty arrived.

Therline UK Pillow - Sleeping in Pregnancy

The Theraline Maternity and Nursing Pillow (or Terry) is a long, slightly bent in the middle pillow that has been specially designed to help you get a comfortable in pregnancy. Rather than being made of feathers or foam like lots of other pregnancy pillows, Terry is made from millions of micro beads which makes it super light and also means it conforms to the shape of your body. Because it’s so flexible you can literally use it anywhere and in any position and it will always spread out to hit exactly the places you need it to. This gives your pregnant body the support  needed to get a good  nights sleep, or just find a comfy position on the sofa!

You can use it in so many ways but my favourite is to place it between my legs so my knees are kept apart (meaning my tummy and hips are supported and away from the bed) and my arms can hug the top section running past my ribs. A bit like a more comfortable (and less insane looking) version of this:

Theraline Pillow

I literally don’t know what I would do without this pillow now, especially as my 31 week bump seems to be growing by the millisecond. We put the cover in the wash a couple of weeks ago (yes – it also has washable covers!!) and I didn’t get any sleep at all that night – I tried propping pillows and duvets between my legs but it just doesn’t cut the mustard in comparison to Terry.

The real beauty of it though is that I’ll be able to use it after the birth too as it makes an ideal nursing pillow (even for twins which thankfully I’m NOT having). Have a wee peak at this video to see all the various positions it’s ideal for!

If you are pregnant, thinking of getting pregnant or just want to be really bloody comfortable at night I seriously suggest you check out this pillow. I guarantee that Terry and I will be inseparable for years to come (as long as the other half doesn’t mind sharing the bed with my other man post-pregnancy!)

Disclosure: I was sent Terry by the lovely guys at Theraline but this has had no impact or sway over how much I adore him.

I loved this pillow so much. It’s so comfortable and I used it until Amy was almost two years old. It’s like cuddling up to a person that doesn’t snore, move or get sweaty. Perfection, if you ask me.
