Yesterday was gorgeous wasn’t it? Though possibly verging on too warm for a six month old baby who doesn’t like to keep a sun hat on and tried to lick sun cream off as soon as you put it on!
So to make the most of the weather the bestie and I decided to take our gaggle of kiddies out for the day – and what a lovey day it was!
We ventured out to our local animal welfare centre (Raystede) which is a fab place to take wee ones as it’s a totally free day out (well, except for the chocolate cake in the cafe of course) and there’s so much for them to see and do that you can keep them happily entertained for hours (less of a bother for our 5 and 6 month old buba’s but vital for my besties three year old!)
Oscar has also just made the move from pram to pushchair and this was our first proper outing to try it out. The verdict? A whopping success! We wandered for ages and he could look out and see all of the animals that he’s never seen before (rabbits, cats, ducks, turkey’s and geese galore!) – I think it’s fair to say he was totally loving it and we even made a wee ducky friend who decided to follow us on our adventures.
After our wander round the animals we stopped off in the kids play area so the besties little one could let off some steam riding the wooden tractor with some new friends and I could get Oscar to take a nap. How cute does besties little one look enjoying the sunshine?
Then it was off to the cafe for the aforementioned chocolate cake (obviously there are no photo’s as we were juggling small infants and…well…CAKE!) and coffee before deciding to take our now-slightly-whingy babies back to the besties for the rest of the afternoon where we drank tea, played with the hose in the garden and generally had a lovely lovely time.
It’s days like these that make me super happy that we both had a baby at the same time!
All in all a much better way to spend a sunny day; in the countryside having fun rather than sitting in front of Netflix (my usual day *ahem*)
